Wedding Bells Are Ringing

I got to shoot a wedding 🥂👰🏻🤵🏻. This was the most amazing experience I have ever had the opportunity to be apart of. Late on a Friday, I got connected with an amazing primary shooter looking for a helper at a wedding the next day. Saturday morning I drove to Jackson to meet her at the wedding venue and she took me through the whole itinerary.

We started with flat lays and close ups of the ✨ DETAILS ✨along with dress photos. I am OBSESSED with how these came out. When I did invitations for the small amount of time that I fell down that rabbit hole, professional flat-lays were my favorite photos to get back of my work.

There were some photo groups I got to do on my own, like the mother of the groom along with the sisters. The entire day was such a learning experience and I sucked everything in like a SPONGE. So much info. So many tips and tricks.

We moved outside for the ceremony and what a cluster. Getting all family around for photos was so hectic. This is where having years of experience organizing large groups of people would be beneficial. It was very fast paced. And I realized quickly that my Nifty 50 lens just can’t handle large groups of people like that.

We then took a short drive to a gorgeous park and took bridal party photos. There were probably my favorite of the whole day. I got so many good pictures and these woman were all stunning.

The reception was at a gorgeous building in downtown Jackson. On the 5th floor, the view of the city was STUNNING. The evening was a bit rushed, with cake cutting, speeches and trying to catch the sunset 🌇 outside for couple photos.

And let me just say, those sunset pictures were worth the hassle! They turned out stunning. But it isn’t hard with a gorgeous couple like the new Mr. and Mrs. Claussen.

This was the most amazing experience and so valuable for a newbie like me. And I will never forget photographing my first wedding.
